Blood Orange & Basil Soy Candle

I’ve been experimenting with blending more custom scents lately and this is my latest, favorite achievement. Blood Orange & Basil is a sultry summery mix of sweet soft citrus and dirty spicy basil – the type of scent that stops you in your tracks and keeps you going back for more. While it was originally inspired by the bright herbs and citrus fruits of summer, it has a moody, peppery air to it that easily works year round. For me, this gives more bedroom and living room vibes than kitchen or bathroom, but honestly, it’s beautiful everywhere.

Our 4 oz soy candles burn for 25+ hours, 8 oz for 45+ hours, and 12 oz for 80+ hours with proper care (see below).

Candle Care: For best results, keep the wick trimmed and burn in 4-hour intervals or at least until the melted wax reaches the edge of the glass before extinguishing (2-3 hours – the first burn will take the longest). Light your candle without trimming the wick for the first burn and then trim to 1/8–1/4 inch between uses or while burning if necessary to maintain a small, steady flame. If the flame exceeds 1 inch tall, blow out, trim, and relight.  Burning a candle for too little time will cause “tunneling” and burning for too long (without trimming) is dangerous. Never burn a candle unattended or overnight to avoid overheating or cracking the jar.
